Undergraduate research assistantships (RA) for academic credit (HDFS/PSY 390) are offered every semester for undergraduate students at Purdue. RA responsibilities may include collecting data in schools, transcribing audio and video recordings, coding transcriptions, preparing data collection materials, contacting families and schools, data entry, and participating in community engagement experiences. RA positions are a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with children and actively being involved in the research process.
If you are interested in joining the lab, please send your resume, unofficial transcript, and a statement of why you are interested in joining the lab to Dr. Purpura. For best consideration, please apply by the middle of the semester before you intend to join the lab. Priority will be given to students who are interested in joining for multiple semesters.
Dr. Purpura is recruiting graduate students for admission each year. Applications are typically due each year by December 1st for Fall admission. For more information on graduate admissions, please see the Purdue HDFS Graduate Admissions site. If you are interested in applying, you are encouraged to reach out and set up a meeting with Dr. Purpura to learn more about the lab.
The lab occasionally has funding for postdoctoral researchers off of funded grants. These positions will be advertised on Purdue's Career site.
